Mindy is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Certified Lactation Counselor, specializing in pediatric feeding therapy. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Columbia College and her Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Miami University. She is a member of the American Speech Language and Heading Association (ASHA) and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
Mindy has a passion for working with children and has extensive experience working with an array of populations, including children with language disorders, articulation disorders, pediatric feeding disorders, motor speech disorders, and orofacial myofunctional disorders (tongue thrust). Mindy also has a passion for supporting breastfeeding dyads. As a first time mom she experienced first hand how much information is not easily accessible to families. Her goal is to equip families with the tools and knowledge to succeed in reaching their goals.
Mindy implements a holistic approach to her practice with a strong emphasis in family involvement. She is an advocate for interdisciplinary practice and collaborating with all professionals (pediatricians, GI, ENT, dentists, OT, PT, nutrition, etc.) to provide coherence amongst team members (including the caregivers) in order to treat the WHOLE child. Mindy strongly supports the notion that parents and caregivers are a child's first and most important teacher. As a parent or caregiver you are the MOST important team member and the expert on your child.
